Q: What is Contract Sanitation?

A:

Contract Sanitation provides an outsourced, turn-key program for your food processing facility.  This program includes all of the costs associated to ensure the program is complete with the proper reporting and documentation.

Q: We have always done our sanitation in-house and never have any problems, so why would we change?

A:

There are several reasons for moving to contract sanitation: reduction and management of a significant plant cost, limiting your liability and exposure, management of HR related issues and maintaining all sanitation related documentation required by government agencies and third party auditors.  All of these savings free up your time and energy to spend on other areas of your business.

Q: We do our sanitation in-house because we feel it gives us more control. How do we still maintain control if we contract this out?

A:

PSSI becomes your partner and an integral part of your team. We are engaged in your plant planning and quality meetings, we provide all of your necessary audit and safety documentation and respond to your requests. The only difference is our uniforms say PSSI. You will gain more control because our services allow you to focus on what you do best: production.

Q: We have a union plant, how do we handle this?

A:

Each case is different but over 70% of the plants we service are union plants. We work with you and your Union to ensure that your employees are treated with respect and are not affected negatively.

Q: Sanitation is one of our core competencies, why would we contract this out?

A:

Sanitation is all that PSSI does, it is our sole core-competency and we have been doing it for over forty years.  When partnering with PSSI, you can focus on your key core-competency…efficiently producing a safe and wholesome product while maximizing your profit.

Q: What parts of my Sanitation Program will be fixed-cost?

A:

Fixed costs of our sanitation programs include: all employee related costs, sanitation liability, sanitation chemical costs, sanitation equipment and tool costs.

PSSI also has written guarantees for the on-time delivery of the production floor and costs associated with equipment damaged in the sanitation process.

When you make the change from in-house sanitation to a PSSI contract sanitation program, costs are transferred from variable to fixed. As a customer of PSSI, your sanitation program costs are guaranteed.

Q: Do you provide services outside of the production areas?

A:

Yes. PSSI can provide all plant non-product contact jobs including, but not limited to, janitorial services, cleaning exterior areas, loading docks, storage areas and warehousing.  Please contact us for a full explanation of potential non-sanitation jobs we typically perform.
